Replacement planning
Replacing Legacy LN₂ Foggers
A legacy owner often asks, “What is the new equivalent?” The right answer starts with the application, architecture and documentation because old published specifications may be inconsistent and the operating workflow may have changed.
Capture the installed-base facts
- Manufacturer, model, serial number and year
- Nameplate, manual and accessory photos
- LN₂ and water capacity
- Power and control configuration
- Hose/outlet arrangement
- Actual use cases and room sizes
- Known failures and maintenance history
- What users like and dislike about the current system
Select the pathway
A passive/dewar legacy workflow may align with AP35, AP95 or AP175. An active-system strategy may align with AP30, AP50, AP100 or AP200. M2001 and UF2 legacy support have their own dedicated resources; do not collapse all historical equipment into one comparison table.
Prove the replacement
- Define the current method and evidence gap.
- Shortlist architecture and output range.
- Confirm current product specifications and availability.
- Run a proof-of-method trial where possible.
- Update SOPs, training, safety and validation documents.
