LN₂ Fogger Maintenance and Storage

A fogger can appear simple while hiding water-path hygiene, cryogenic seals, sensors, pressure components, hoses and controls that degrade when stored wet or uninspected.

Post-use water control

Follow the current model manual for draining, rinsing, cleaning and drying. Do not allow stagnant DI water to remain in the chamber. Use only approved cleaning materials and record the completion date, operator and any abnormal condition.

Architecture-specific inspection

Passive dewar systems require attention to dewar condition, venting, pressure behavior and transfer components. Active self-pressurized systems add sensors, controls and pressure-management components. Do not apply one generic maintenance checklist to both families.

Storage program

  • Store dry, clean and protected from impact.
  • Keep hoses capped or bagged according to site practice.
  • Protect cables, display and remote controls.
  • Record preventive-maintenance and service due dates.
  • Maintain current manuals and accessory inventory.
  • Function-test early enough before a scheduled validation to allow repair.
